The grease noise detector named BeQuiet can be used to detect the noise of different bearing greases in SKF laboratories and around the world. The device uses a pickup and an electronic device that is in contact with the bearing outer ring to measure the vibration of the bearing. With a reference to the noise of a grease - lubricated bearing, the tested greases can be classified by the grease noise level and their damping characteristics are determined. Pick up sensors and electronic components of BeQuiet devices must be calibrated periodically to provide correct test results when using the MEA 6A device.
