Goteborg, June 21, 2016: SKF signed a value of more than SEK 1 billion contract with Rolls-Royce, the new development of the gas turbine engine supply spindle bearing.
A series of engine main bearings SKF will be used for Rolls-Royce, including Trent XWB (TXWB) gas turbine engine. TXWB is the sixth generation of Trent engine series, designed specifically for the Airbus Company A350 XWB series aircraft.
SKF aerospace business director Rutger Barrdahl said: "we will not only provide long-term service for Rolls-Royce, at the same time to ensure the timely supply of products, and will actively invest in the development of new products to meet customer needs."
The new engine project for Rolls-Royce company, SKF has gradually started to supply is expected in 2018 for the full supply of spindle bearing.
